So here we are, on the open road.....
Last Monday me and Damone left good ol Canada on route to Seattle which took us 2 hours driving. Going across the U.S. border was freaky deaky. So much beauracracy, cameras, fingerprints, anal butt probes. But we passed their little tests and here we are. Am in San Fransisco as i type this and it is Halloween day.
Seattle was fun, we hung out around the University district which we knew would be a fairly safe place to park and sleep. Oh yeah, we are sleeping in our van. here is a picture of the old girl.
In Seattle we befriended these student girls, one of which was kind enough to give us some breakfast when we slept outside her halls of residence. we are like a pair of tramps. Finding a place to sleep is a nightmare - we have been moved on a couple of times and parking is expensive.Seattle was funny though. Driving around the Uni, there was all the frat houses with their alpha, kappa, delta wotsit. We tried to get into a party their but its like really hard to get in. I think the ones doing the party are all fat and ugly and want all the girls for themselves so they aint gonna let in 2 English dudes. The girls on campus live in Soroity houses. the cheerleader types. They told us that no, they dont have naked pillow fights or wrestle in jelly in their underwear. i think ive seen too many movies.
you know like that film- Animal House? Well, its not like that...someone's sucked the life outta these geeks. Students here actually study which is an alien concept to me.
Damon and I wandered round the campus. They even have their own american football field. Its MASSIVE! All we got in Bournemouth was a little bit of grass next to a carpark with a couple of cows...
We saw these guys all training. headbutting each other. Jocks.
Seattle is a pretty cool city on the whole, not really that much different from Vancouver. They have the Space Needle here which unfortunatly we didnt get a chance to go up. We did check however check out this cool market downtown, we saw an NBA basketball game which was kinda funny and we ate lots of junk food. Our first proper meal in the US was in an old 50s themed diner. They sure know how to cook a good burger here.

mmm...greasey
After a few days of partying and sightseeing and a few nights of discomfort in our van we decided to flee Seattle and head down south to the sunshine of California!
The drive took us a day and a half, travelling down the Pacific Coast Highway which is the scenic route. Very pretty it is too, although the drive was somewhat hair-raising at times. Drove through all these little matchbox towns and cool forests. Alot of these towns just look the same and are strange kind of bland places. Damon said it right -The U.S. is all function and no form. Its bizarre. I like the nature though. Its cool.
Anyway, here i am, finally made it to Frisco. gonna head downtown soon. More stuff on Frisco to come.
C ya
